Decay and fracture — for example, from cavities, clenching and grinding, and accidents (e.g., falls and impact causing tooth breakage) — can lead to tooth structure loss. It’s critical to act quickly, to preserve and protect the remaining tooth structure, and restore the natural function and appearance of your teeth.
The custom crown process requires two visits to Walnut Creek Dental Studio. During your first visit, we’ll remove any decay and clean your tooth. We’ll also take a 3D digital scan of your teeth — no more gooey, sticky impression material! — and share it with our expert lab partners. To ensure a natural appearance, we’ll share your teeth coloring with our lab so they can color match and make your crown undetectable. Finally, we’ll create and place a temporary crown, which protects your tooth while the lab creates your permanent crown.
During your second visit, we’ll work with you to ensure that your crown has ideal fit, function, and aesthetics. Finally, we’ll permanently cement the crown and educate you on proper maintenance.
Are you getting an implant? After your oral surgeon places the implant, we’ll partner with them to understand your specific needs, and then we’ll restore the implant with an abutment and crown.
The implant abutment and crown placement process requires two visits at Walnut Creek Dental Studio. During your first visit, we’ll take a 3D digital scan of your mouth and implant, and then share it with our expert lab partners. We’ll share your teeth coloring with the lab, which they will color match to give your crown a natural appearance.
During your second visit, we’ll place the implant abutment and crown, and work with you to ensure ideal fit, function, and aesthetics.
